Biographical Info

Education & Background:

I received a Bachelor of Science in Biology (2004) and a Master of Science in Chemistry (2009) from Washington State University – Tri-Cities and worked for twelve years as a Chemist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.

 

Realizing my heart was in helping people and not in preparing research samples, I changed careers in 2020 after graduating from the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy. I am currently the Health Coach at Empowered Health Institute, a primary care clinic in Richland, WA.

 

My personal health journey has helped me understand the benefits of functional medicine and the impact lifestyle factors can have on a person’s overall health and well-being. I am passionate about helping others find their inner strength to make lasting lifestyle changes so that they can thrive.

 

Areas of Focus:

Managing Chronic Disease Through Lifestyle Changes: Most of my time is spent working with members of the Empowered Health Institute helping them implement the Action Plans they have created with the clinic’s physician. The utilization of a team approach has many benefits toward helping the members acheive their desired changes.

 

Managing Time, Stress, and Anxiety: The types of clients I feel drawn to helping are those who struggle with managing time, stress, and anxiety. Having spent years in the high-stress environment of a national laboratory, I understand the need for finding balance in life to ensure happiness and to prevent burnout.

 

Additional Information:

  • I work remotely by phone or using HIPAA-compliant video conferencing.
  • I work with clients in person in Richland, Washington, and the surrounding areas.
  • When I’m not researching the latest in positive psychology or behavior change, I can be found in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes, out kayaking with my husband, or enjoying a good book.
